It is with deep regret and sadness that I must inform you that Paul Maines died on Sunday 23rd August.
He had been feeling unwell over the weekend, was admitted to hospital and died at lunchtime.
Paul was not only an archery enthusiast and coach, but also a great servant of the sport, both for his club, Gordano Valley, and for his county, Somerset, where he had been Chairman until his health deteriorated as he was undergoing treatment for cancer – a treatment he endured bravely and without complaint.
He will be greatly missed by all his archery friends and, on behalf of SCAA, I offer sincere condolences to his family.
