Archery England Selection

Please note the below information from Archery England (English Archery Federation) –

The English archery Federation (EAF) holds events and selects teams on behalf of English Archery.
Archers who are affiliated to any of the 5 English regions are eligible to shoot for team England in the Home Nations tournaments againt Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales as well as other Commonwealth Countries in the Commonweath/ Euronations tournaments.There are senior tournaments and junior tournaments.
In oder to beome a member of Team England archers (Juniors and Seniors) have to submit 3 scores on line to the selection team. Events we need teams for are the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships and the Commonwealth/Euronations Games. Any one who has shot for AGB,however, is not eligible to shoot for the Indoor and Outdoor championships

*** BE AWARE *** – Fraud attempt

GWAS has been made aware of at least two attempts to fraudulently obtain monies from clubs / counties by using publicly available names and email addresses of treasurer and chairmen. With the bogus “chairman” supposedly instructing the actual treasurer to settle some fictitious account.

Members are urged to be vigilant.

GWAS Club Affiliations – Change of Process 2018/19

As ArcheryGB are moving to an entirely electronic based system (Sport80) for affiliations starting from the 2018/19 affiliation year, GWAS has decided to change its’ affiliation process.
So for 2018/19 affiliations and onwards clubs will now send their GWAS club affiliations directly to the regional affiliations secretary (Paul Callaway)

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

General Data Protection (GDPR) becomes effective on 25th May 2018 and to this end Grand Western Archery Society (GWAS) has produced two new documents:

ArcheryGB have also issued advice for tournament organisers –
If you organise an event, to comply with GDPR, Tournament Organisers should include the following wording on tournament entry forms:

“When you enter competitions the following information may be collected and shared with tournament organisers, scoring systems and other competitors for example target lists and results may be published: First Name, Surname, Gender, Bow style, Date of Birth / Age category, Email, Address, Phone number, Club (and ID), County (and ID), Region (and ID), Round (unless defined by age), Disabled (Y/N), Disability info.”
