Club Secretaries, if your club would be interested in taking part please send the completed Entry Form to Simon Slade who organises the DCAS Summer Warwick Postals. The deadline for team entries has to be end of April as the competition starts 1st May so the earlier I get the entries the easier it will be to get the competition started on time.

Eddy Wheeler Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce on the evening of 25th january Eddy Wheeler passed away after a short illness. He was very well loved within the archery community, always there to help or give advice, from coaching juniors to helping keep Redruth Archers ground looking good. Nothing was too much effort and in 2015 both he and his wife Wendy were recognised for over 40 years volunteering and were presented an award by Archery GB. He was liked and respected by everyone he came into contact with and will leave a big void in the archery community, he will be sadly missed by family and friends alike.

Devon and Cornwall Archery Society Indoor Championships 2022

The DCAS Committee have looked at whether it is sensible to run the Indoor Championships at Plymouth and given the current state of the Covid pandemic, we feel that it is important to protect our members and volunteers and as such we will be cancelling the physical event. We would like to thank Yelverton Bowmen and the YMCA for supporting us in this decision. Instead we will run the County Championships as a postal event, but not quite in the same format as other replacement postals that we, and GWAS have done recently.

Brixham Archers cancel Clipper Indoor tournament for 2022

Regrettably, due to increased COVID risks, availability of judges and reducing numbers, the Brixham Archers Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel their Clipper UKRS tournament for 2022. A comment from them says: “We appreciate that this will be a disappointment and it is not a decision we made lightly, however we have to put the safety of our volunteers and archers first.”
